UPSC Civil Services 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Final-year students can also apply, but they must have completed their degree before the Mains exam.
2. Age Limit
- General Category: 21 – 32 years (as of 1st August 2025)
- OBC: 21 – 35 years
- SC/ST: 21 – 37 years
- PwBD Candidates: Additional relaxation as per government rules.
3. Number of Attempts
- General: 6 Attempts
- OBC: 9 Attempts
- SC/ST: Unlimited Attempts (up to age limit)
UPSC CSE 2025 – Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of three stages:
1️⃣ Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Paper 1 (General Studies – 200 Marks)
- Paper 2 (CSAT – 200 Marks, Qualifying)
2️⃣ Main Examination (Descriptive Type)
- 9 Papers (Essay, GS Papers, Optional Subjects, Language)
3️⃣ Personality Test (Interview)
- 275 Marks
