UPSC Civil Services 2025 – Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Final-year students can also apply, but they must have completed their degree before the Mains exam.

2. Age Limit

General Category: 21 – 32 years (as of 1st August 2025)
OBC: 21 – 35 years
SC/ST: 21 – 37 years
PwBD Candidates: Additional relaxation as per government rules.

3. Number of Attempts

General: 6 Attempts
OBC: 9 Attempts
SC/ST: Unlimited Attempts (up to age limit)

UPSC CSE 2025 – Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three stages:

1️⃣ Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

Paper 1 (General Studies – 200 Marks)
Paper 2 (CSAT – 200 Marks, Qualifying)

2️⃣ Main Examination (Descriptive Type)

9 Papers (Essay, GS Papers, Optional Subjects, Language)

3️⃣ Personality Test (Interview)

275 Marks
